چکیده
We propose a new family of the d0 orbital XY (X = K, Rb, Cs; Y N, P, As, Sb, Bi) monolayers with abundant and novel topology valley properties. The KN, RbN, RbP, RbAs, CsP, CsAs, CsSb possess remarkable quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE). monolayer also exhibits extraordinary QAHE giant splitting. Moreover, topological properties can be effciently tuned by in-plane strain, owing to strain-induced band inversion between px;y pz orbitals. Our findings suggest that good candidates for promising applications in spintronics multifunctional topological-based devices.

Valley-polarized metals and quantum anomalous Hall effect in silicene.
Silicene is a monolayer of silicon atoms forming a two-dimensional honeycomb lattice, which shares almost every remarkable property with graphene. The low-energy structure of silicene is described by Dirac electrons with relatively large spin-orbit interactions due to its buckled structure. The key observation is that the band structure is controllable by applying electric field to silicene. We...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Quantum Spin Hall and Quantum Anomalous Hall Effects in a Two-Dimensional Decorated Lattice Using Entanglement Spectrum
Since the discovery of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) in 1980 [1], topological states of matter have been extensively investigated [2, 3]. A full family of quantum Hall like states was recently discovered experimentally, including quantum spin Hall effect (QSHE) and quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) [4–6]. QHE-like states are examples of topologically nontrivial phases, distinguished from tri...

متن کاملAnomalous edge transport in the quantum anomalous Hall state.
We predict by first-principles calculations that thin films of a Cr-doped (Bi,Sb)2Te3 magnetic topological insulator have gapless nonchiral edge states coexisting with the chiral edge state. Such gapless nonchiral states are not immune to backscattering, which would explain dissipative transport in the quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) state observed in this system experimentally. Here, we study the...
متن کاملQuantum anomalous Hall effect with higher plateaus.
The quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect in magnetic topological insulators is driven by the combination of spontaneous magnetic moments and spin-orbit coupling. Its recent experimental discovery raises the question if higher plateaus can also be realized. Here, we present a general theory for a QAH effect with higher Chern numbers and show by first-principles calculations that a thin film magne...
